It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Morey (Spruce Pine, North Carolina), who passed away on September 9, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rita Morey to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverand Hughe Glen and Margarite Myers; her husband Ronald Morey; and her siblings, Jane Smith (Richard), Eileen Pike (Herb), Betty Myers, Keith Myers (Linda) and Reverand Harry Myers (Anne).
She is survived by: her son Ronald Morey Jr. (Debra) of Bakersville; her grandchildren, Paul Frasier (Jessica) of Bakersville, Jessica Porter (Duane) of Bakersville and Joshua Morey (Tracey) of Bakersville; her great grandchildren, Dana Porter, Duane Porter, Jane, Skyla Frasier, Ashton Frasier and Dixie Frasier; and her great great grandchild Colton Atwood.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the United Methodist Church (Red Hill Rd, Bakersville, NC).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Mitchell County Senior Center, 152 Ledger School Rd., Bakersville, NC 28705.
