He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Pruitt and Marie Brooks Pruitt; his wife Karen Pruitt; and his sister Irene Pruitt. He is survived by: his son Ricky Dean Pruitt of Delco, NC; his grandsons, Jonathon Dean Pruitt and Ricky Dean Pruitt, Jr.; his stepdaughters, Dena Hadley (Will) of Graham and Jennifer Mann (Mitch); his stepgranddaughters, Bristol Hadley, Alexis Wolf Wake Forest (Alex), Maddux Mann and Londyn Mann; his stepgreat-granddaughter Mila Wolfe; and his siblings, Mildred Jones Sparta (Chris), Dale Pruitt (Nancy) of Pleasant Garden and Harold Pruitt of Sparta. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Landmark Union Baptist Cemetery (3428 Ridge Glen Rd, Sparta, NC 28675).
