She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Richard Hollifield and Lillie Mae Coffey Hollifield; her husband Dr. Jeffrey Kaplan; and her son David Thomas Bell. She is survived by: her son Luke Robinson (Jodi) of Bakersville; her brothers, Tim Hollifield (Kathey) of Little Switzerland and Chris Hollifield of Pensacola, FL; and her pet Amal.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church (1209 Chestnut Grove Church Road, Spruce Pine, NC 28777). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
