Sonya Carver Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 16, 2025, at the age of 79, Sonya Carver (Spruce Pine, North Carolina) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Sonya Carver to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her sisters, Doris, Willene, Shirley, Lorraine, Blanche and MaryLou.
She is survived by: her husband Douglas Carver; her daughter Melissa Phillips; her son-in-law Joey; her son Jeff Neer; her grandchildren, MaKayla Phillips Hudgins and Carson Phillips; her great grandchild Porter Hudgins; her brother Eddie Lankford; and her siblings-in-law, Don Waldroup, Brenda and Kathleen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and her family of the heart—close friends and her church family.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Freedom Baptist Church (1353 Roan Rd, Spruce Pine, NC 28777). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
