She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Whitson and Alma Harrell Whitson; her husband Paul Grundstrom; her son Eric Smith; and her sister Wanda Hope Tipton.
She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Daniels of Green Mountain; her grandchildren, Christa Daniels of Green Mountain, Joshua Eric Smith of Indiana, Rachel Lee Smith of Indiana and Jordan Whitson Smith of Indiana; and her brother Frank Whitson Jr. of Johnson City, TN.. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bridge Church (207 Pinebridge Ave, Spruce Pine, NC 28777). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
