He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Miller and Hattie Forbes Miller; and his siblings, Jim Miller, June Atkins, Rexie Atkins, Harriett Wilson and Mae Parker.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Wiseman Miller; his children, Thomas Clay Miller of Spruce Pine, Travis Lee Miller (Becky) of Ledger and Tammy Campbell (Steve) of Ledger; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Tenesha, Jaden and Jakk; and his great grandchildren, Kelci, Kendrix, Kambry, Letti and Kane. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
