With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Barrow Turbeville of Stacy, North Carolina, who passed away on October 14, 2022 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Carlton Barrow and Dorothy Barrow; her husband William Ray Turbeville Sr.; and her great grandchild Michael Brayden Rivenbark. She is survived by : her children, William Ray Turbeville Jr. of New Bern and Beth Turbeville Nelson (Richard) of Stacy; her granddaughters, Christy Turbeville Coulter (Mark) of Vanceboro and Julie Nelson Arthur (Casey) of Beaufort; her great grandchild Easton Brantley Coulter of Vanceboro; and her brother Carlton Hugh Barrow Jr. (Barbara) of New Bern.

During Covid, the shortage of face masks prompted a demand for home-sewn masks, which Joan worked many hours a day to fill.
