He was predeceased by : his parents, Keith Hayes and Dixie Cannon Hayes; and his brother Jerry K. Hayes. He is survived by : his significant other Lisa Lynn Hayes; his sons, Kory Edmundson (Taylor) of Broadway and Kameron Edmundson (Alexis) of Asheboro; his siblings, Wanda Brady (Mike) and Montae Hayes (Tammy); his grandchildren, Madilyn Edmundson, Lukas Edmundson and Stella Edmundson; and his sister-in-law Kena Hayes.
