He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Edward and Margaret Gant Leonard; his daughter Kristen Renee Leonard; his grandsons, Seth Leonard and William Loflin Ragsdale; and his siblings, Sydney Leonard, Sylvia Leonard Southerland and Hal Leonard.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Kivett Leonard; his children, Patrick Keith Leonard of Liberty and Kimberly Leonard Ragsdale (Randall Ragsdale); his grandchildren, Brian Keith Sawer, Anna Ragsdale Lumpkin, Ethan Randall Ragsdale, Jacob Ragsdale, Reagan Kathleen Ragsdale and Sandra Paige Ragsdale Venkataraman; his brother Eddie Leonard (Debbie) of Ramseur; and his pet Khloe.
