He grew up in North Belmont and eventually found Stanley as his forever home where he married Nancy Diane Howe and raised their only daughter. He would travel over to Carolina Speedway and watch from the stands, often coming home with a layer of orange from the main events. He was a loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins. He cheered them on during the sports seasons.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, his brother Charles Max Rhyne and sister Judy Watts. Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter Laura Rhyne Edwards (Lee Hass), his grandchildren Rebecca Black Foster and Jessica Rhyne. His great grands were his joy, Nathan Lee Chitwood (USMC), Claira Ann Childers Holland (USN Submariner), husband RJ and Wyatt Foster.
