He was predeceased by: his brothers, Paul and Roger Carr. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Arey Carr; his children, Bryan Carr (Jody), Sara Gilkey and Julie Schroer (Chris); his siblings, Daryl Carr (Ruth), David Carr (Theresa), Tom Carr and Kay Edwards; his grandchildren, Maggie Stanley (David) and Kim Gilkey; his brother-in-law Jeffrey Arey; his nieces, Vicki Morgan (Rhett) and Amy Davis (David); his great-niece Ashley Morgan; his great-nephew Wesley Watson; his nephew Keith Arey (Jennifer); his great-nephews, AJ and Austin Arey; his close friend Susan Dunaway; and his pet Cassie.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Oakwood Cemetery (114 N Oakwood Dr, Statesville, NC 28677).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Medi Hospice.
