She was predeceased by: her parents, Dale Strohe Higbee and Jane Nash Higbee; her husband David Kirk Mize; and her sister Sidney Lee Higbee. She is survived by: her brother Richard Nash Creel; her brother-in-law Robert (Bobby) Mize (Elizabeth); and her sibling's children, Sam Mize (May), Charlie Mize (Luci) and Lily Mize (Joel).
