She was predeceased by: her parents, James Martin Wilhelm Jr. and Lillian Ruth Murdock Wilhelm; her husband H. F. "Frank" Barkley; and her siblings, Ben, Bob "Robert", Louise, John, Alwyn, Clement, Jimmy, Norgen, Frank, Billy, Davis and Ren.
She is survived by: her nieces, Penny and Tonya; her daughter Penny Ruth Barkley Stewart of Charlotte; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wilhelm (Jimmy) of Hickory and Carolyn Wilhelm (Ren) of Statesville; and her pet Stanley. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, a host of great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County or Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church.
