He was predeceased by: his parents, David Milton Laney and Carol Ann Stepp Laney; his grandson Edwin Rogers; and his brothers-in-law, Joe McNeely and Ron McNeely.
He is survived by: his wife Donna McNeely Laney; his sons, Brian Rogers of Troutman, David Matthew Laney of Mooresville and Dustin Laney of Statesville; his grandchildren, Conner Rogers, Jaxon Laney and Lily "Peanut" Laney; his sisters, Dawn Cady (Joey) and Debbie Phillips (Frankie); his close friend Mike Guibault; and his sisters-in-law, Debbie Guibault, Stephanie McNeely, Earlene McNeely Mills and Nicole Rogers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Troutman Funeral Home (345 N Main St, Troutman, NC 28166).
