He was predeceased by: his mother Nelva Mitchell Dalton. He is survived by: his father Everett Luther Dalton; his wife Barbara C. Dalton; his children, V. Elwood Dalton Jr. (Grace), Sharon Ratcliff, Bonnie Shumaker, Benny Dalton (Amy), Vickie Dalton, Michelle Guzik (James) and Mark Dalton; his grandchildren, Timothy Ratcliff, D. J. Shumaker, Norman Dalton, Jessica Ratcliff, Brennen Guzik, Alexis Dalton, Zoe Dalton, Caitlin Guzik, Connor Dalton and Abigail Dalton; and his great grandchildren, Whitney Ratcliff, Natalie Dalton and Leah Shumaker.
A graveside service was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Oakwood Cemetery (114 N Oakwood Dr, Statesville, NC 28677).
