He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Beverly Butts and Wanda Veazey Butts; his siblings, Michael Butts (Robert Butts) and Susan Butts; and his granddaughter Kari Walvatne.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Butts; his daughters, Sheri Butts and Beverly Lynn Butts; his grandchildren, Amanda Butts of Heather Walvatne, J. P, Johnson and Kenneth Walvatne; and his great grandchildren, Michael, Haley, Jason, Scarlett and Leon Paul Butts.
The military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Salisbury National Cemetery (501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144).
