With sadness, we share the passing of Jerry Parks Gatton (Statesville, North Carolina). Jerry, born on February 18, 1941, passed away on September 21, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Parks Gatton and Easter Nell Ford Gatton; and his siblings, Harold Gatton, Gilbert Gatton, Buster Gatton, Dwight Gatton, Wanda Tolbert and Annie Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Poteat Gatton; his children, Charles Stephen "Chuck" Gatton, Doug Gatton (Jeanna) and Kimberly Harrison (Eric); his grandchildren, Jonathon Gatton, Hannah Harrison (Trent), Ryan Harrison (Claire), Jake Gatton and Charlie Gatton; his great grandchild Braxton Dean Nicholson; and his sisters, Gaynell Fritz and Martha "Beanie" Weatherman (David). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Beulah Baptist Church (1851 Old Mountain Rd, Statesville, NC 28677). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gordon Hospice House.
