He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Knox Steele and Edith Virginia Crouch Steele; his sister Libby Campbell; his brother-in-law Allen Campbell; his brother Hugh Steele; and his nephews, Bradley Scott Hummel and Brent Lee Campbell.
He is survived by: his siblings, Jimmy Steele (Beckye), Billy Steele (Paula), Robert Steele (Ann) and Debbie Church (Mac); his sister-in-law Marie Steele; and his siblings' children, Robin Joyner (George), Julie Steele (Jimmy), Kelli Hall (David), Kim Smith (Mike), Jeff Steele (Renae), Heather Ainsley (Chris) and Karen Mayhew (Andrew). He is also survived by great nieces and great nephews, two special great-great nieces, and many cherished cousins.
