He is survived by: his great grandchild Kinley Elizabeth Merritt; his wife Dorothy Miller Pharr; his daughter Debbie Merritt (Ronnie) of Statesville; his grandson Adam Merritt (Bridget) of Statesville; his great grandchild Karlyn Marie Betts; and his niece Juanita Lackey.
