She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodrow Wilson Johnson and Alise Jane Johnson; her siblings, H. L. Johnson, Elbert Johnson, Gaynell Tilley and Christina Ford; her grandson Justin R. Smith; and her great grandchild River Smith.
She is survived by: her husband James Edward McBride; her sons, Robert Smith and James Smith; her siblings, Jimmy Johnson (Helen) and Betty Henry; her grandchildren, Santanna Dion and Tyler Smith; and her niece Lisa Johnson. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cox-Needham Funeral Home (822 W Main St, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
