He was predeceased by: his parents, Covo Harrison and Beulah Cox Akers of Indian Valley, VA.; his wife Lois Jean Akers; his siblings, Carl Junior Akers of Dry Valley, VA and Neva Dell Akers Wurzburger of Indian Valley, VA; and his grandson Jacob Akers.
He is survived by: his sons, Jody Lee Akers and James Dwayne Akers; his daughter-in-law Angela Jewel Akers; his daughter Victoria Elizabeth Akers (Skyler); his daughter-in-law Sharon Angela Akers; and his son Logan Alexander Akers (Mackenzie).
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home and Chapel (127 Ellisboro Rd, Madison, NC 27025). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
