She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Wilbur and Ernestine Richardson Adkins; her former husbands, Wayne Gentry and Pete Smith; her sons, Doug Gentry and Timmy Gentry; her grandsons, James Gentry and Darrell Gentry; and her siblings, Buster Adkins and Bonnie Carter.
She is survived by: her husband Jose Martinez; her children, Jimmy Gentry and Sue Shumake (Gary); her grandchildren, Devin Shumake, Farren Wilkinson, Jaime Gentry, Warren Gentry, Wesley Gentry and Chip Gentry; her niece Lynn Denny; her siblings, J. W. Adkins (Barbra), Brenda Spencer (Joe) and Phyllis Morton (Chuck); and her sister-in-law Peggy Adkins. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ellisboro Baptist Church Cemetery (1604 Ellisboro Rd, Madison, NC 27025).
