We announce the death of Monroe Irving Thomas Jr. (Stoneville, North Carolina), who passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 83. Monroe will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Irving Thomas, Sr. and Maude Roberts Thomas; and his sisters, Emma Dye and Anna Campbell. He is survived by: his wife Judy Parker Thomas; his children, Cindy Gibson (Doug) and Dwayne Thomas (Chrystal); his grandchildren, Ashley Gibson, Michael Gibson and Mattie Thomas Woods (Nathan); his great grandchildren, Amber Dabbs and Colton Woods; and his siblings, Bill Thomas (Wanda), Nancy Dooley and Kay Overby. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
