With solemn reverence, we commemorate Ruth Ellen Nelson of Stoneville, North Carolina, born in Rockingham, North Carolina, whose life came to an end on December 8, 2025 at the age of 67, leaving behind cherished memories. Though Ruth may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Ruth touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Nelson and Mary Ruth Nelson; her siblings, Lawrence Nelson and Cathy Ricks; and her sister-in-law Betty Jo Nelson.
She is survived by: her significant other Pat Mersereau; her brothers, Frank and Barry Nelson; and her brother-in-law Mack Ricks. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ridgeview Cemetery (1658 S North Carolina Hwy 58, Nashville, NC 27856).
