Alice Macon Stewart Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alice Macon Stewart of Stony Point, North Carolina, who passed away on July 31, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Macon and Alice Holt Ball Stegall; her spouse Vestal Carol Stewart; and her sisters, Diane Welch and Linda Evans.
She is survived by: her children, Scott Wayne Stewart (Laura) of Portsmouth, Virginia and Lisa Lynn Stewart Crater (Dexter Owen Crater) of Salisbury, NC; her sisters, Doris Hamilton of Portsmouth, VA and Catherine Lee of Portsmouth, VA; and her grandsons, Ethan York Crater (Kristi) of China Grove, NC and Raleigh Aaron Crater of Salisbury. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home (705 Davie Ave, Statesville, NC 28677). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the Alzheimer's Association or to the Wounded Warrior Project. These three organizations were significant to Alice and a donation in her memory would be a blessing to those who are served by them.
