He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Ray Payne Sr. and Nellie Adams Payne; and his grandchild Kody Montgomery Payne. He is survived by: his wife Judy Chapman "Teach" Payne; his sons, Monty Payne (Pat) of Stony Point and Matt Payne (Daphne) of Stony Point; his siblings, David Payne (Shirley) of Stony Point, Fern Kiker (Carl) of Monroe and Toni Smith (Larry) of Taylorsville; and his brother-in-law Midge Matlock of Stony Point. He is also survived by Six granddaughters, six great grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery (4415 Old Mountain Rd, Stony Point, NC 28678).
