He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Perkins and Lillian Roy Perkins; his wife Mary Ann Nichols Perkins; his daughter Diane Edwards; and his siblings, Howard, Edward Perkins and Elizabeth Whatley.
He is survived by: his children, Jacque Perkins of Greensboro, Janet Durham of Greensboro, Teresa Martin (Paul) of Eagle River, AK and George Perkins, Jr. of Summerfield. He is also survived by six grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
