He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Newsome and Margaret Gray Newsome; and his brothers, Monroe Newsome and Billy Newsome. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Newsome; his children, John Newsome Jr., Adam Newsome (Dani Newsome), Edward Newsome (Tammy Newsome), Sheila Creech (Robert Creech) and Ann Lacy (Herb Lacy); and his grandchildren, Grayson Newsome and Taelynn Newsome.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Charity Baptist Church (4079 Battleground Ave, Greensboro, NC 27410).
