He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Wray, Sr. and Mildred Holbrook Wray of Summerfield; and his siblings, Virginia Lee (Roger Lee) of Summerfield and Jerry Wray of Stokesdale. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Wray; his siblings, Bob Wray (Gerry Lou) of Summerfield and Elaine Pegram (Mickey) of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his sister-in-law Wanda Wray of Greensboro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In leu of flowers the family has requested that donations to be made to the Moravia Moravian Church Building Fund.
