She was predeceased by: her spouse Hurley Briggs, Sr.; her parents, William Henry Hollowell and Frances Ellen Goodwin Hollowell; her stepson Tim Briggs; and her siblings, Edna Mae Parker, Catherine Chesson and James Hollowell.
She is survived by: her son William J. "Billy" Briggs (Nancy) of Sunbury, NC; her grandchildren, Chris Turner (Kim) and Dustin Briggs (Jordan); her stepgrandchildren, Timmy Hedgepeth, Karen Banks and Michael Briggs; her great grandchildren, Ava Turner and Hatton Briggs; and her siblings, Faye Wiley and W. H. Hollowell. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Beulah Baptist Church (967 US-158, Sunbury, NC 27979). A reception was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Fellowship Hall.
