With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Raymond Leroy Rapier (Sunbury, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 20, 2025 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Asbury Rapier and Minnie Bell Radcliff Rapier; his wife Josefa "Liesa" Glasner Rapier; and his daughter Johanna Collins Steinmacher. He is survived by: his children, Erwin K. Collins, Carol Rapier Lamothe (George), Rose Sherman (Larry), Doris McLean (David) and Darlene Mertz (Bryan); his sister Carol Jenson; and his grandchildren, Michael Collins, Dawn Marie, Lee, Charlie Raymond Rapier, Sean Richard Boardman, Michael Stuart Boardman, Emma Cruiser, Madison McLean, David McLean and Alexis Mertz. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
