He is survived by: his mother Audrey Chavis; his wife Mary Lois Chavis; his children, Chenora Scott (Jerid) of Pembroke, NC, David Chavis (Halle) of Four Oaks, NC and Makia Chavis (Adam Hathaway) of Supply, NC; his grandchildren, Raylan Scott, Mia Scott and Jack Scott of Pembroke, NC; and his sister Edie Locklear (Ricky) of Mooresville, NC. He is also survived by two nieces, a nephew and a host of family and friends.
