He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Byron Kirby and Geraldine Sellers Kirby; and his sister Tina Kirby Ladson. He is survived by: his wife Denice Hewett Kirby; his sons, Allen Darrell Smith (Debbie) of Calabash and Byron Lee Kirby (Amanda) of Bolivia; his sister Donna Newton (John) of Supply; his brother-in-law Bobby Jack Ladson of Supply; and his nieces and nephews, Khounpachamsy (Kaedee) of Tampa Florida and Elaine Eaton (Brandon) of Leland. He is also survived by 56 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the White Funeral and Cremation Service (4690 East Coast Ln, Shallotte, NC 28470). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the United Vision Pentecostal Church (2408 A I Clemmons Rd, Shallotte, NC 28470).
