He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Rudolph and Elsie Emma Geiger Platz; his former wife Eleanor A. Platz; his brother Richard Platz; and his wife Gail M. Davidson Platz.
He is survived by: his children, Karen R. Prindle (Arthur), Diane C. Johnson (Randall), Edward O. Platz (Roberta) and John P. Platz (Lois). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.
