He was predeceased by : his parents, Lloyd Spake and Thelma Johnson Spake; his wife Thelma Brockmeier Spake; his son Jeffery Lloyd Spake; and his brothers, Jerry Spake and James "Jim" Spake.

He is survived by : his daughter Kim Hudgins (Tony); his sister Rose Gamble; his grandchildren, Dustin Burleson (Laura) and Nikki Hudgins Fox (Cody); and his great grandchildren, Evie, Isla Burleson and Christian Hudgins. He is also survived by three nieces, three nephews, and many cousins.
