He was predeceased by: his parents, John Columbus Wright, Sr. and Ruby Rathbone Wright; his wife Phyllis Ballard Wright; and his siblings, Marie Hall, Herschel Wright, Marvin Wright and David Wright.
He is survived by: his children, Johnny Wright (Lucy), Nancy Miller (Mike), Susan Robinson (Bruce) and Beth Carter (Brian); his siblings, Betty Hensley, Robert Wright and Larry Wright; his grandchildren, Hannah (Paul), Holly (McLean), Madison (Kody), Drew, Megumi (Nathan), John, Samantha, Samuel, Emilie, Rebekah, Addie and Jack; and his great grandchildren, Everett, Wade, Worth, Grey, Soloman, Max, Amelia, Annalise and Brynn.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Swannanoa Heights Baptist Church (222 Fountain Way, Swannanoa, NC 28778). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
