He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Fleet Penley and Hazel Wise Penley; his wife Carole Penley; and his sister Joyce Carver. He is survived by: his children, Stacey Bailey of Leicester, NC and Randy Penley (Chrissie Penley) of Nebo, NC; his stepson Steve Walke of Swannanoa, NC; his grandchildren, Mason Penley, McKinzy Penley of Nebo, NC, Tyler Penley of Marshall, NC and Jacob Bailey of Alexander, NC; his great grandchildren, Waylon Bailey of Alexander, NC and Maverick Penley of Marshall, NC; and his niece Karen Carver of Chapel Hill, NC..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home (125 South Ave, Swannanoa, NC 28778). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
