He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles William and Betty Walconic Matteson; his sons, Richard William and Robert Joseph Matteson; and his brother Mark Steven Matteson.

He is survived by: his son Terrie Loven Matteson; and his grandson Charles Alan Matteson.
