Elbert Austin Guthrie Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elbert Austin Guthrie of Swansboro, North Carolina, who passed away on June 7, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Guthrie and Gladys Guthrie; his brothers, Alton "Aggie" Guthrie, David Vann Guthrie and James "Jimmy" Dalton Guthie (Janet Odham Guthrie); his daughter Darlene Chloe Guthrie Bell; and his great grandchild Lydia Joy Morris.
He is survived by: his children, Buddy Jr. of Cedar Point, Patti Guthrie of Cedar Point, Janel of Cedar Point and John White Jr. of Cedar Point; his son-in-law Alan Bell of Swansboro; his grandchildren, Derrick Alan Bell (Brittany), Brittany Guthrie Bell, Mallori Guthrie Morris (Samuel), Dana Morgan Guthrie, Drew Austin Guthrie (Makenna), Jordan Guthrie White (Madison), Jeremy Guthrie White (Hayley) and JonAustin Guthrie White; his great grandchildren, Kellan Hazel, Luke, Benjamin and Mattie; and his sisters, Faye Aman of Cedar Point and Judy Bishop of Peletier.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home of Swansboro (407 Old Hammock Rd, Swansboro, NC 28584). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Swansboro United Methodist Church (665 W Corbett Ave, Swansboro, NC 28584).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Adam's Closet in care of Swansboro Rotary Foundation.
