He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Ruehr of Morehead City, Jane Coltabaugh of Swansboro, Steve Ruehr (Mandy) of New Bern and Jennifer Ruehr of Morehead City; his adoptive daughter Jennifer Milam of Swansboro; his grandchildren, Jessica, Alex, Seth, Gabriel, David, Aidan and Caden; his great grandchildren, Violet, Eugene and Beau; and his brother Michael Ruehr.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Onslow Memorial Park (3280 Richlands Hwy, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
