It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gloria Jean Miller Matthews of Swansboro, North Carolina, who passed away on August 18, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lela Mae Sorrell Miller and Prentiss Odell Miller; her husband Charles W. Matthews; and her siblings, Jerry Miller, Judy Mae Miller and Ed Miller.
She is survived by: her children, Tony Matthews (Wendy) of Garner, NC, Lori M. Matthews of High Point, NC and Beth M. Barker of Swansboro, NC; her siblings, Larry Miller (Olevia), Sylvia Cash (Bruce) and Jackie Miller (Ed); and her grandchildren, Haley G Matthews, Allie J. Matthews and Lennox "Knox" Barker.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel (301 W Main St, Benson, NC 27504).
