She was predeceased by: her parents, Gurny Watson and Ivelta Valentine Watson; her husband Robert Steger, Sr.; and her siblings, Ed Watson, Leola Wolfe and Libby Whistnant.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Steger, Jr. (Chris) of Castle Hayne, Russell Steger (Regina) of Swansboro and Ronald "RonMan" Steger (Maria) of Swansboro; her grandchildren, Cameron, Samuel, Scot, Beth and Jared; her great grandchildren, Selah, Noah, August, Ellie, Harrison, Gavin, Mason, Ziva, Logan and Mallory; and her sisters, Carole Taylor of Lenoir and Nina Dula of Lenoir.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bear Creek Baptist Church (116 Great Neck Landing Rd, Hubert, NC 28539). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
