He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Hughes and Margaret Hughes; his sister Cathy; and his brother-in-law Andy Bourdess. He is survived by: his wife Janet Hughes; his sons, Scott Hughes (Susan) of Exter, PA, David Hughes (Anjanette) of Newport, NC and Tom Hughes of Jacksonville, NC; his brother Henry Frank "Hank" Hughes (Patti) of Haymarket, VA; his grandchildren, Scott Hughes, Evan Hughes, Anna Hughes, Abby Hughes, Sam Hughes, Tom Hughes and Mason Hughes; and his great grandchildren, Onyx Hughes and Oliver Hughes.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mildred's Catholic Church for their Building Fund, 653 Old Hammock Rd., Swansboro, NC 28584.
