He was predeceased by: his father Sydney Grimes; and his wife Barbara J. Grimes. He is survived by: his mother Annie L. Stokes of Summerville, SC; his brother Larry Grimes of Goose Creek, SC; his children, Ronald Grimes, Jr. of Wilmington and Laura Grimes-Holland (Ryan) of Swansboro, NC; and his grandchildren, Layla and Sullivan Holland.
