With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cooter Wood of Sylva, North Carolina, born in Jackson, North Carolina, who passed away on November 23, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dell Wood and Cora Lowe Wood; his wife Wilda Rogers Wood; his siblings, Jacqueline Brown, Joyce Adams, Hilda Fisher and Billy Wood; and his brother-in-law Freddie Nicholson.
He is survived by: his daughter Teresa Wood of Sylva; his sister Priscilla Brown of Sylva; his siblings-in-law, Rev. Carl Adams, Jimmy Nicholson (Gloria), Johnny (Joanna), Wanda Medford (Terry) and Linda Nicholson (Clarence Russell); and his cousin Rosalie Creasman. He is also survived by 22 nieces and nephews as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
