It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Stephen Austin of Sylva, North Carolina, who passed away on March 14, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Flora Austin (Queen) and Clarence Austin of Jackson County; his brothers, Ottis Austin and James Austin; and his pets, Happy Jack and Bootz.

He is survived by : his daughter Jessica Austin (Stephen James Poe); his former life partner Jo Ann Austin (Ward); his siblings, David Austin, Kaye Austin, Brenda Nicholson and Rachel Jordan; and his close friends, Adam Page of Adams Towing and Tracey Henson. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
