Though George may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those George touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Bartley and Daisy Mull Ashe; and his siblings, Helen Ruby Bennett, Wanda Jean Carter and Kenneth Eldon Ashe.
He is survived by: his sister Claire Peek-Dills of Bryson City; his children, Glenn Ashe (Tabby), Devin Ashe of Cullowhee, Rachel Ashe of Georgia and Aimee Sumner of Sylva; and his stepson Brian Gilder (Robin) of Sylva.
