He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Buchanan and Luna Buchanan. He is survived by: his wife Linda Buchanan; and his children, Pete Lowe (Roseanne), Angie Boudreau, Robin Sing-Cunningham (Berris), Sherri Lowe and Rick Buchanan (Jessica). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
