It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Monteith Blanton (Sylva, North Carolina), who passed away on July 14, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Goldman Monteith and Essie Ashe Monteith; and her siblings, Lewis Monteith and Doris Hilliard. She is survived by: her husband Curtis Ray Blanton; her son Sam (Sonja); her grandsons, Carter Elizabeth and John Riley; her sisters, Reba McGinnis, Joyce Cagle of Murfreesboro, TN and Billie Bryson of Webster, NC.; her nieces, Pat Weeks (J. W.) and Pam Cagle (David); and her nephew J. C. Cagle (Jan).
