He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Rice Jr. and Joyce Pauline Crisp Rice. He is survived by: his former wife Kimberly Rice; his sons, Jerry Rice IV (Laura) of Hendersonville, Robert Rice (Malissa) of Asheville and Patrick Rice (Brittany) of Sylva; and his grandchildren, Everett and Eliza.

The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
